What to Bring

As you prepare for your upcoming weekend at Heartland Baha'i Summer School, here are a few items to keep in mind as you pack your bags:

  1. If you have a copy of the 29 December 2015 Letter with notes that you would like to bring to add further ideas to it, please do. We will have copies for everyone, but you may have your personal copy that you wish to bring as well.

  2. It can get quite chilly in some of your meeting rooms, so it is a good idea to bring a fleece or light jacket to wear while inside.

  3. Don't forget to bring a towel, and a sleeping bag or extra long linens along with a pillow for the college dormitory beds. These rooms have been known to get cold at night as well. Be prepared!

  4. If you plan to rent a linen packet from the university, remember, the packet does NOT include a pillow nor a blanket! (Perhaps a friend can bring an extra pillow and blanket for the weekend).

  5. We always have lots of music at Heartland, so don't forget to bring your musical instruments!

  6. The good news is we have the pool again, so don't forget to bring an appropriate swimming suit.

  7. If you have any Baha'i books, crafts, or materials that you would like to donate to the School to raise funds for the Scholarship Fund, please remember to pack those items!

  8. Lastly, there is construction going on at Millikin this summer so your usual parking spot may not be available. Right now we know that the lot between Shilling (30) and Perkinson Music Center (25) is unavailable (see the Millikin Map). There is still plenty of parking available as marked with an "A", just double check the map.

It is NOT too late to register for Heartland: July 15-17, 2016. We have an amazing keynote speaker, Dr. Muin Afnani, Chairman of the National Spiritual Assembly, and an astounding Musical Director, Van Gilmer, Director of the House of Worship Choir so you know we will be rocking!
